At Miles Ahead Therapies our main priority is enabling our clients to reach their individual goal in the way the suits that person.  Through the assessment process we listen to a person's aims and drivers, and help to find an engaging way to enable each person achieve their best possible outcome.

Vocational Rehabilitation

We provide assessment of functional abilities, including strengths, limitations and needs.   We identify potential barriers to returning to work and set realistic goals.   Developing strategies to help individuals return to or maintain employment through tailored interventions.

Activities of Daily Living

We support individuals in regaining or maintaining independence in activities of daily living.  We do this by addressing physical, cognitive and emotional challenges, and developing a client-centred, meaningful and bespoke treatment programme.

Leisure Activities

While you need to be able to care for yourself and work, we recognise how important being able to take part in enjoyable activities can be.

We find practical ways to support individuals to continue to participate in indoor and outdoor leisure activities, therefore enhancing quality of life.

Return to Fitness

We are passionate about promoting appropriate physical activity and exercise for all conditions.​  We use a variety of fun and engaging activities to help individuals reach their own fitness goals including: Pilates, fell walking, cycling, gym activity and support, sport, swimming, gardening.

Cognitive Rehabilitation

We assess cognitive abilities and how they impact on day to day function.  The assessment can identify specific cognitive deficits, such as memory, attention or executive challenges.  We can support clients to build treatment programmes and develop strategies including remediation, compensatory, environmental, education and support

Vestibular Rehabilitation

We assess and treat vestibular conditions that can occur both as a result of a neurological condition and on their own.

Dizziness, vertigo or nausea when moving, turning, walking or travelling in a car could be due to problems with the vestibular system.  An individuals balance is also likely to be affected and these conditions can be very debilitating.

Physiotherapy is very effective in reducing the symptoms of vestibular problems and improving balance and function.

Aquatic Therapy

We offer specialised aquatic physiotherapy. Drawing on years of experience we use the hydrodynamic properties of buoyancy, turbulence and drag to challenge balance reactions, improve  strength and mobility, and have fun!

Functional Electrical Stimulation

We have therapists trained and experienced in using FES in therapy and as an orthotic, for both lower limb and upper limb.

Balance and Mobility

Our therapists use a wide variety of techniques to treat balance and coordination deficits.  Including: balance exercises with a variety of challenging surfaces, functional mobility and an electronic balance board.

Upper limb therapies

Our therapists are trained in using a variety of techniques to treat upper limb movement disorders. Including: mirror therapy, Saebo flex and glove, Constraint Induced Movement Therapy.
