We are based in north Cumbria and cover much of the north west and north east of England.

We are able to offer individualised assessment and goal centred treatment. This often takes place in client's homes to optimise function. But we also often take therapy out and about to a variety of settings depending on an individual's goals. This could be out in the fells, attending the gym, going swimming, or even climbing. We love working towards aspirational goals, and using fun and engaging methods to maximise change.
What we offer

We provide a wide variety of both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy assessments, including: functional; cognitive; workplace; housing and seating assessments, along with many more.

At Miles Ahead we have an established and integrated way of carrying out joint holistic Physiotherapy and Occupational assessments. Profession specific focused assessments can also be arranged.

All our assessments aim to gather the relevant information needed to create an effective treatment plan and improve a client's overall wellbeing and functional independence. We believe in an effective treatment plan which will include activities the client enjoys. Assessments will involve discussions with clients around their goals for the future, as well as their motivational drivers.
Assessment
Report
Following one of our occupational therapy and/or physiotherapy assessments a comprehensive written report can be completed upon request. These reports can provide clients with supportive evidence for those involved in legal proceedings. Written reports can also be produced for solicitors, case managers and a wider multi-disciplinary team. Reports contain expert opinions, advice and recommendations regarding the health and well-being of the client, as well as a fully costed treatment plan.

Treatment
Our therapy sessions focus on activities that are both person oriented and environmental. We believe in engaging our clients in meaningful activities that are not only fun but deliver on therapy goals. Our sessions are designed to improve the quality of life of our clients whilst supporting them on their rehabilitation journey.
This support can range from providing equipment which will assist with independence in personal care to engaging clients in an accessible activity. All sessions are fully accessible and measurable, providing therapeutic outcomes such as improving fine motor skills, concentration, fatigue management etc.
