A Bit About Me
I am a passionate and knowledgeable Neurological Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist based in Penrith, Cumbria. I have experience working in the personal injury sector working closely with case managers and solicitors, as well as 20 years’ experience working in the NHS and qualified as an occupational therapist in 2005. I have worked in both the acute and community setting and most recently led a specialist brain injury rehab unit in the private sector. I have extensive experience of working with individuals with acquired brain injury, stroke, catastrophic injuries and other neurological conditions.

I am a dynamic occupational therapist with a ‘can do’ attitude who strives to deliver functional rehabilitation through enjoyable and meaningful activities. I believe in giving individuals opportunities to achieve and focus on quality of life. I am committed to providing excellent person-centred care that is rooted in evidence based practice with the aims of reducing risk and promoting independence.

My most recent role at the Calvert Trust has allowed me to develop a specialist interest in utilising the outdoors and associated activities as a rehabilitation tool. I find this approach especially effective in the treatment of difficulties in cognition, physical, social, mental health and wellbeing.

Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit and I am currently training to be a personal trainer. I am a member of Eden Runners and attend weekly Yoga. As well as being an avid Liverpool FC fan I also play football for the Calthwaite Ladies Team and enjoy watching my two sons play football at weekends. Any spare time we have as a family is spent up the fells or on the water in The Lakes.
