A Bit About Me
I am a passionate and highly knowledgeable Neurological Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. With over 16 years of varied experience of working in the field of neurological rehabilitation, I have an extensive background of working with individuals with Acquired Brain Injury and Stroke, catastrophic injuries, poly trauma and other neurological conditions.
It is always my first priority to work together with an individual to establish what is important to them, what their personal goals are and how can we establish a program that is engaging to that individual. Through previous roles have been lucky enough to enable exciting and meaningful rehabilitation programs through a huge variety of exciting activity including fell walking, rock climbing indoors and outdoors, sailing, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, orienteering, bushcraft, foraging, cycling, swimming, going to the gym, Pilates, yoga, bowling, tennis, basket ball, football, table tennis, ghyll scrambling.

I love my job and the ability to work with individuals to achieve their potential. Through the years I have seen the tangible benefits of a functional and engaging approach to rehabilitation. I have seen first hand the benefits of high intensity rehabilitation through individuals enjoying what they are doing. Isn’t it better if you can enjoy what you are doing? It means you are likely to be able to work even harder. I like to use the water to help individuals push their boundaries and do things they did not think were possible.

Evidenced based practice and continuing professional development runs through the core of all my assessments and treatment plans. I am dedicated to ongoing learning and development in order to ensure all my practice is effective and up to date. I am Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (ATACP) trained therapist in both Foundation levels and Neurological Conditions. I have extensive experience over 8 years of delivery aquatic therapy to individuals with a wide variety of neurological conditions. I am Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) trained. I am trained in vestibular assessment and rehabilitation through the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Vestibular Rehabilitation (ACPIVR). And have completed courses in Saebo Flex and Reach and Functional Electrical Stimulation

Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of settings including, acute hospital settings, rehabilitation units and in the community. Over the years I have worked alongside and as part of the Calvert Trust where the ethos is about “what you CAN do, rather then what you can’t”. I love to work alongside other innovative forward thinking professionals in order to help individuals make real positive changes.

Outside of work I am a keen outdoor enthusiast. I spend much of my time in the fells running and cycling, having lots of fun wild adventures with my young family.
